Test Stand Operator
This position uses knowledge of quality requirements to test pumps and motors to make sure all product meets quality standards.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration and noise levels. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. Shop conditions consist of dirt/dust.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear.
The employee must regularly lift and move 50 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full time position with overtime. Expected to work 50-60 hours a week.
No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED.
This is an entry level position.
Responsible for testing the quality of 5151 series pumps and dump pumps. Must have physical ability to lift and mount pumps on test stand machine, tighten bolts, remove cap plugs, screw in appropriate fittings, hook up appropriate lines, and then remove pump from test stand once testing complete. Requires knowledge of test stand computer software system, and the ability to read and interpret testing machine and flow charts. Must be able to identify style of pumps to know what speeds and direction to set for machine. Requires the knowledge of quality standards for Permco, along with customer standards. Must be able to identify any leaks and/or issues that may affect pump performance.
Responsible for visually inspecting pumps prior to testing.
Must have knowledge of building and porting process.
Able to identify and attach proper quality test tag, once testing is complete.
Responsible for removing any excess oil and cleaning pump, once testing is complete.
Responsible for communicating with foreman regarding process and identifying any rush orders needed for immediate testing.
Must communicate with builders regarding any failed pumps and high priority jobs. Also, responsible for communicating with paint booth operator regarding high priority pumps/orders.
Must keep up with machine maintenance. Responsible for changing filters.
Responsible for keeping caps and test tags stocked and available for use.
Responsible for keeping work area clean.
